Silver Dose is an alternative rock trio based outside New Orleans, blending groove-driven heaviness, drop-tuned guitar riffs, melodic hooks, and influences that reach across grunge, nu-metal, funk, hip hop, and Latin music. The band is fronted by Brazilian-American vocalist and guitarist Guzz Andrade, with Jordan Tamplain on bass and backing vocals and Rikki Frazier on drums.
The group formed in 2019 after Andrade moved to the United States from Brazil. From the beginning, Silver Dose developed around the idea of combining heavy rock with rhythms and textures that do not stay inside one genre, giving the band a sound that can shift between aggression, groove, melody, and more atmospheric moments.
Silver Dose quickly became an active live band, building experience through dozens of shows and sharing stages with national acts. Their performances emphasize the size and impact a three-piece can create, with tightly locked rhythms, heavy guitar work, and a direct, physical stage presence.
The band released a run of singles and an EP in 2020 before delivering its debut full-length album, “Slander,” in 2022. That record established the core of Silver Dose’s sound while songs such as “4700 Miles,” “Headlines,” and “Down the Land” helped define the band’s balance of personal writing, social observation, and heavy alternative rock.
More recent releases have pushed that sound further. “Already Dead” brought out a heavier and more emotionally raw side of the band, while “Joyride” leaned into speed, rhythm, melody, and movement. Silver Dose continues to evolve without abandoning the groove and weight at the center of its identity.
With roots in Brazil and Southern Louisiana and a growing history of shows across multiple states, Silver Dose has built its identity around movement — between cultures, genres, and cities — while keeping the music heavy, melodic, and unmistakably its own.
